You can customize what you want to hear about and how you receive notifications so Notebird works the way you work.
Why Notifications Matter
Notifications help your organization:
Stay informed about important care activity
Keep up with Tasks assigned to you
Know when someone mentions you
Stay informed when someone comments on an Update or Task
Follow activity involving the people and Groups you care about
Receive a daily summary of upcoming Tasks, milestones, and Updates
Keep up with conversations and activity you're already involved in
Instead of relying on memory or constantly checking Notebird, notifications help bring important information to you.
How Notifications Work
Notebird gives you several ways to stay informed, depending on the type of activity and how closely you are involved.
You can customize these notifications to make sure you receive the information that matters most to you.
Early Bird Report
The Early Bird Report provides a daily summary of upcoming Tasks, milestones, and Updates.
You can choose the time you would like to receive your daily report and whether to receive it through your Notebird Inbox, email, or both.
This makes it easy to start your day with a quick look at what needs your attention.
Activity Notifications
Activity Notifications help you stay up to date on activities that are important to you.
You can choose which activity you want to receive notifications about and how you want to receive each type of notification.
Notify Me About
The "Notify Me About" dropdown lets you choose how much activity you want to receive notifications about.
You can choose:
All activity — Available to Organization Admins only. Other roles will not see this option
People and groups I follow — receive notifications about activity involving the People and Groups you follow. This is the default setting.
Only people I follow — receive notifications about activity involving the People you follow.
No activity — turn off Activity Notifications.
What to Hear About
Activity Notifications include:
New Tasks — when a Task is added
Completed Tasks — when a Task is marked done
New Updates — when an Update is written
New Milestones — when a milestone is added
New Comments — when someone comments on a Task or Update
For each type of activity, you can choose how you want to receive the notification:
Inbox
Email
Inbox & Email
None
This gives you control over both what you hear about and how you hear about it.
Participation Notifications
Participation Notifications keep you informed about replies and completions on Tasks and Updates you created, are assigned to, or commented on.
You can choose whether to receive these notifications through your Inbox, email, both, or neither.
This helps you stay connected to conversations and care activities you're already participating in without having to follow everything happening throughout your organization.
Direct Notifications
Direct Notifications are notifications specifically related to you.
These include:
Task assignments — when someone assigns a Task to you
@Mentions — when someone mentions you in a Comment, Task, or Update
Reactions — when someone reacts to a Task, Update, or Comment you wrote
You can choose whether to receive each of these notifications through your Inbox, email, both, or neither.

Notifications and Email

Notebird allows you to choose how different types of notifications are delivered, including:
Inbox
Email
Inbox & Email
None
Activity Notifications, Participation Notifications, and Direct Notifications each allow you to control how notifications are delivered.
Task assignments, @Mentions, Comments, and Reactions can all generate notifications according to your notification settings.
For example, you can choose to receive Task assignments through both your Inbox and email while receiving Reactions only in your Inbox.
How to Use the Notebird Inbox
Your Notebird Inbox gives you a central place to review notifications and activity that may need your attention.
When you receive a notification:
Open your Inbox.
Select the notification you want to review.
Read the message or activity.
If available, reply directly from the notification.
Open the related Update or Task when you need to see the full details.
