Notebird now allows you to control exactly which Membership Types from Planning Center sync into your organization. This enhancement gives you more flexibility, reduces unnecessary clutter, and keeps your People database focused on the individuals who truly need to be managed in Notebird.
What This Feature Does
With Selected Membership Type Syncing, you can choose which Membership Types from Planning Center should be included in your sync. Only people who match the Membership Types you select will be added to, or remain in, Notebird. Everyone else will be automatically ignored or excluded.
Why Selected Membership Types Are Important
Every church or organization uses Membership Types differently. Some include visitors, volunteers, inactive members, staff, and many other categories. Not every category needs to be synced into Notebird.
Selecting Membership Types allows you to:
Keep your Notebird People list clean and manageable
Avoid syncing individuals who aren’t currently active or relevant
Reduce noise when searching, filtering, or assigning care
Mirror your internal structure more accurately
Save time by ensuring only the right people enter your care ecosystem
How to Select Membership Types to Sync
Click on Your Name in the top right corner
Click on Account.
Select the Integrations Dropdown
Open the Planning Center integration settings.
Under Membership Types, choose the specific types you want to sync.
Click Save Changes.
Confirm Remove and Resync
Only the Selected Membership Types will sync moving forward.
What if I Don't See the Membership Types in my Integration?
Note: If you don’t see the option to filter by Membership Types, try running a Resync from Planning Center. Once the resync is complete, the Membership Type filter options should appear.
How the Sync Works
Initial Sync: Only people whose Membership Types match your selections will be imported.
Future Updates: As Membership Types change inside Planning Center, Notebird will automatically add or remove people based on your selections.
De-Syncing: If you later remove a Membership Type from your sync settings, people who no longer qualify will be removed from Notebird at the next sync cycle.
What You’ll See in Notebird
People List: Only individuals in the approved Membership Types will appear.
Groups: Care Members will only be able to interact with synced people.
Activity Feed: Updates and Milestones will reflect only the people currently synced.
Reports: All reports will automatically exclude individuals outside your selected Membership Types.

What happens if a person’s Membership Type changes in Planning Center?
If their new Membership Type is not selected in your sync settings, they will be removed from Notebird at the next sync.
Does removing Membership Types from the sync delete people permanently?
It removes them from Notebird, but they remain untouched in Planning Center.
Can I sync all Membership Types if I want?
Yes. Simply select all Membership Types to restore a full sync.
Does this affect other Planning Center fields or lists?
No. Only Membership Types determine who is synced.
